Life in Seguin

Seguin is a regional entertainment hub that provides endless entertainment options for families, couples, singles and retirees. Whether your idea of fun involves spending the day at a local festival, perusing collections of local art at the Seguin Art League, listening to a live band play at the Seguin Brewery or going swimming with your family – it is all possible here.

Many visitors are pleasantly surprised by the cultural amenities that exist in our community. We have a vibrant performing arts scene with opportunities to watch and participate. The beautifully restored Palace Theater offers residents and visitors the opportunity to watch a theatrical production, listen to concerts and screen films in a historic art-deco building. Just outside of town, the Blue Lotus Winery hosts events and provides wine-lovers, couples and friends with the opportunity to relax in a beautiful setting while tasting aromatic and full-bodied wines. Their spectacular tasting room is a popular destination, bringing visitors from nearby San Antonio and Austin.

The Seguin Events Complex also draws visitors. The Guadalupe County Fair and Rodeo is held in this immense complex each October. Featuring an arena for rodeos, exhibit buildings, dance hall, horse stalls, RV hookups, baseball and softball fields, volleyball courts, play area for the kids and a coliseum that can accommodate 1200 people for special events, the Seguin Events Complex hosts events throughout the year and is a fantastic community asset.

Downtown is the heart and soul of Seguin's community. It consists of 27 square blocks, where buildings date back to the early 1900's. Today it's home to a variety of local businesses including delicious eateries, the states oldest licensed bar, trendy boutiques, modern and eclectic coffee shops, museums, bed and breakfasts, a brewery and much more. Seguin residents and visitors celebrate big at annual events such as the Summer Concert Series, the biggest small-town 4th of July parade, Pecan Fest Heritage Days and Holiday Stroll to name a few.

Come shop Seguin, eat our food, experience our history and join our celebrations. Stay awhile, hear our stories - and create a few of your own.
