Seguin Economic Development Corporation Hosts 6th Annual Business Appreciation Luncheon, Sponsored by GVEC

SEGUIN, TX – The Seguin Economic Development Corporation (SEDC) is dedicated to maintaining and improving the economic climate of our city. Partnerships with our local business is key to achieving those goals. Every year, the SEDC hosts a Business Appreciation Luncheon, sponsored by GVEC, to thank our local businesses for their dedication to our city’s present and future economic growth.

“A key element in the success of economic development is a culture that creates opportunities for new business as well as sustained business excellence for existing businesses. SEDC is proud to honor a few of those businesses each year that are a “REAL” part of that culture by recognizing their outstanding achievements,” said Robert Haynes, SEDC Board President.

The 6th Annual Business Appreciation Luncheon was held on Thursday, August 23rd from 11:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. at the historic Texas Theater. The two-hour event featured a Downtown Comes to You Pop Up Shops, a delicious lunch provided by Davila’s BBQ, and a keynote speech by Mr. Robert Allen, President and CEO of the Texas Economic Development Corporation.

The event concluded with a special awards ceremony that recognized the achievements and contributions of five local businesses. Businesses that were recognized included The Koehler Company – Safety Excellence Award, Seguin Coffee Company– Outstanding New Business Award, Geronimo Alloys – Outstanding Small Business Award, Cargill – Community Impact Award, and Guadalupe Regional Medical Center – Outstanding Large Business Award.

“It is hard to put into words just how much we appreciative all the contributions our businesses make to the City of Seguin. The SEDC’s annual Business Appreciation Luncheon is our way of saying thank you to the local business community. It was an honor to have them in attendance for this event, and it was an honor to recognize these five businesses for their outstanding achievements and contributions to the City of Seguin over the past year. I also have to recognize and thank my Staff and our event sponsor, GVEC. Without their hard work and contributions, this event would not be possible.” Said Josh Schneuker, Executive Director of the SEDC.
