Alamo Group Texas assists Seguin HS students with Agricultural Structures Design and Fabrication Project

Seguin, TX - When two Agricultural Structures Design and Fabrication students at Seguin High School were given their annual task of manufacturing a BBQ Trailer, they were offered help by Alamo Group Texas to provide vital materials donated by their suppliers to bring the designs to life.
 

The project required students to design and build a BBQ Trailer to compete at the San Antonio Stock show and rodeo. The students worked on the project by assessing the necessary materials and welding them together, a process commonly used in the manufacturing industry.
 

The student’s design required several small parts to create a working mechanism and it was no easy task. That is where Alamo Group Texas stepped in to help. “The students told us about their project and we offered to help with some of the material which we were able to get donated by one of our suppliers,” said Mary Andrews, Manager of Customer General Services at Alamo Group Texas.
 

"Our students reached out to Mary at Alamo Group for possible donations for their project. Mary was able to coordinate with her suppliers to provide the necessary materials for the students. Our SISD Maintenance staff and Ag students loaded the material on the trailer, then delivered to our welding shop. The students began working on the project immediately." Stephen Gonzales, CTE Director for Seguin Independent School District.
 

"We have enjoyed building our BBQ pit trailer together. It has been exciting to create this project from our own ideas and imagination." said Christian Deharde and Brennan Turner, the two Seguin ISD students who created the structure.
 

 Alamo Group Texas has partnered with Seguin High School to better prepare students in the Ag Mechanics discipline to be industry ready when they graduate. This in turn will expose the students to the career opportunities which exist at Alamo as well as in other manufacturers within the local community.  ##
