SABJ: Executive Q&A: Seguin economic development director on manufacturing

Alamo Group isn't the only manufacturer in Seguin to make headlines this year.

In April, Niagara Bottling LLC announced that it was adding a production line to its area plant and hiring 30 workers. And in September, the city announced that Continental Structural Plastics Inc. was building a plant on the proposed site for a Cerealto Siro Foods bakery, which never materialized.

Josh Schneuker, who leads the Seguin Economic Development Corp., was in Tokyo with Gov. Greg Abbott when the plastics factory deal was announced. Schneuker sat with the Business Journal to discuss the past year for Seguin's manufacturing industry and what role economic incentives and a skilled workforce play in luring — and keeping — manufacturers.
