(Seguin) – A local company is looking to hire its first 40 employees. Exactly one year after the Seguin Economic Development Corporation (SEDC) and the city of Seguin announced that United Alloy, Inc (UA) would be building its new state-of-the-art manufacturing facility in Seguin, UA is finally working on putting the finishing touches on its new facility.

UA is currently seeking to fill positions for their climate controlled, Seguin manufacturing facility. Those positions include, Manufacturing Process Engineer, Material Handlers, Painters, Fabricators, MiG Welders and Quality Technician.

Headquartered in Janesville, Wisconsin, United Alloy, Inc. is a serial production metal fabrication and powder coating company.

City officials say United Alloy is known for producing the industry’s highest quality leakproof metal fuel tanks, reservoirs, skids, frames, chassis, trailers, heavy metal fabrications, and complex weldments for an extensive list of long-term, highly satisfied and most impressive, Fortune 500 OEM customers.

United Alloy is also ISO 9001 Certified and is also a recognized woman/minority owned business.

UA President Luke R. Jaynes says United Alloy (UA) is excited to open its world class metal fabrication facility in Seguin. He says UA chose the city of Seguin because of the strong work ethic and culture of the people in the community.

“We are confident that we have the types of skilled jobs that the community will be proud of. We are working on hiring at least 40 actively engaged employees as quickly as possible. We encourage those that are looking for a good culture and life supporting wages to apply now,” said Jaynes.

SEDC Executive Director Josh Schneuker says the unemployment rate for the city of Seguin has improved since it reached its highest rate of 15 percent back in May, but at 5.9 percent in October, it’s still nearly twice the rate it was before the start of the COVID-19 pandemic.

He says though we are still in the midst of a pandemic, it’s really a great time for United Alloy to push forward with an aggressive hiring strategy that will help ensure a successful start to their new operations in Seguin.

“There are hardworking individuals within our community that have unfortunately been negatively impacted by the pandemic and are actively looking to get back into the workforce. This is a great opportunity for those folks to re-enter the workforce with a company that goes above and beyond for their employees, while paying living wages that are above average for our area,” said Schneuker.

While there are a variety of positions, Schneuker says welding experience will be among the top skills that the company will be looking for.

“They are going to be hiring quite a bit of welders as well. They are probably going to end up being one of the employers within our region that has one of the highest concentration of welders within one of their facilities. They are coming into this area where just south of us where the Eagle Ford Shale region — there’s a lot of welding involved in the oil and gas industry. I think one thing to point out is folks who might have that experience in that industry. I mean there can be a lot of ups and downs in the oil industry as well and this is an opportunity really provide some stability,” said Schneuker. “If you are welder and have that experience, United Alloy is looking for you.”

United Alloy’s new facility is located at 1721 Eighth Street, just south of Interstate 10. Individuals seeking to work for United Alloy, Inc are encouraged to visit its website at unitedalloy.com. Available positions can be found under the “About UAI” tab on website’s home screen.
