Federal Covid aid secures hundreds of jobs in Seguin project

The federal government will help pay for the expansion of an industrial park in Seguin that has promised hundreds of jobs and millions of dollars in investment to the area.
The city secured an $860,000 federal grant made available under the Coronavirus Aid, Relief and Economic Security Act, the Seguin Economic Development Corp. announced this month.
The CARES Act provides a wide array of relief to communities struggling under the weight of the pandemic, including low-to-no-interest loans for small business. The funding secured by the Seguin EDC and city leaders comes from a $1.5 billion fund given to the U.S. Economic Development Administration under the act to spur local economic development.
