(Seguin) — There’s yet another sign that the economy remains strong in the city of Seguin.

Finance Director Susan Caddell delivered some good news during Tuesday night’s meeting of the Seguin City Council.

“For our first time in history, the city of Seguin received its first $1 million sales tax allocation for one month. In September, our sales tax allocation was $1,045,000. That’s almost 30 percent up from this time last year and we finished the year at $9.7 million in sales tax and that’s 13 percent up from this time last year,” said Caddell.

The economic news isn’t just good for Seguin, Caddell says sales tax revenue is largely up across much of the state. She says that’s a great way to end 2021 and hopes that will carry over into the new year.
