(Seguin) — After having to postpone a month, the Seguin Area Chamber of Commerce says its ready to go Totally 80s at this year’s Showcase Seguin business fair. Tickets are now on sale for the evening event slated for Thursday, Feb. 24 at the Seguin Coliseum.
Chamber President Chester Jenke says after cancelling last year’s event and postponing the event for this month, the chamber is more than ready to host the business fair. He says over 40 businesses will be showcasing their products and services all while having a fun party.
“Showcase is an opportunity for chamber members to show what their businesses do, tell about what their businesses do. There will be some of the Showcase members that are able to sell their product and there are other ones that are just putting their products out there of what is available to them. It looks to be a lot of fun. If you look at the pictures from two years ago, which is the last one that was in person, I think this year is going to be double the amount of fun,” said Jenke.
Jenke says the chamber and its members are especially looking forward to taking a step back into one of the most vibrant, colorful and hip decades of all time.
“This year, it’s an 80s theme. If you walked into an old shopping mall and you saw the food court, there will be a food court where you saw some foods — some HEB type products, some other different foods that will be available there but then after that, it’s just an 80s mall look if you will. So, you will have those cool department store tags located throughout the Showcase itself. So, it looks to be fun,” said Jenke.
Jenke says with the Showcase just around the corner, he is asking that folks grab their tickets today.
“We have a limited number of tickets and we’ve done that just to keep the distance and the safety of the participants that are at the event so if you want a ticket, I’d jump on it earlier rather than later. We will have some tickets that we are holding back for the day of the show or the evening of the show if you will. This year, it’s just 5 to 8 p.m. instead of being an all day but it still looks to be a ton of fun for everybody,” said Jenke.
The Totally 80’s Showcase will be held from 5 to 8 p.m. Thursday, Feb. 24. Tickets are $25 each. Tickets can be purchased at the chamber office located at 116 N. Camp St. or online at www.seguinchamber.com. The link for those online tickets can also be found on the chamber’s Facebook page.
