The City of Seguin Accepting Applications for Business Improvement Grant Program

SEGUIN, TX – The City of Seguin is now accepting applications for the Business Improvement Grant (BIG) Program. The BIG Program is a reimbursement-based grant program aimed at the development and expansion of business enterprises within the City of Seguin. BIG Program applicants may be eligible to receive up to a 75 percent matching grant, with a maximum grant awarded to an applicant not to exceed $10,000. Improvements and other expenditures eligible under the Seguin BIG Program include façade improvements, sign improvements, site improvements, and other real property improvements.

“The City of Seguin first launched the BIG Program in August of 2021 and we found it to be a very successful program for our small businesses,” said Steve Parker, City Manager for the City of Seguin. “We are very excited to be able to offer this grant to the community again for another year. The BIG Program enables our small businesses to partner with the City on projects that will help improve the physical condition of existing commercial facilities and improve business operations and efficiency through the addition of new equipment and machinery. These investments are a win for the City and a win for our local businesses.

Applicants can submit their completed application via email to big@seguintexas.gov, via mail to the City of Seguin, 205 N. River Street, Seguin, Texas 78155, or applications can be physically dropped off at the City of Seguin’s Economic Development Department located at 211 N. River Street, Seguin, Texas 78155.Applicants must review and acknowledge the Seguin BIG Program Guidelines as a part of their submitted application. The deadline to submit applications is January 6, 2023.
