(Seguin) — The Seguin Heritage Museum is celebrating a milestone and is inviting the public to come help celebrate. On April 14, the museum will be celebrating its 24th anniversary from 5 p.m. to 7 p.m. with door prizes, hors d’oeuvres, and beverages.

The museum has a lot to celebrate with the addition of their new media room which will showcase videos and stories of Seguin. The new room will help bring the stories of Seguin and the museum to life for visitors of the museum.

The anniversary party is also a time for the museum to honor its patrons and reconnect with its members.

“You’re welcome to stop by to see the museum and say hello,” said Debbie Armstrong, a board member with the Heritage Museum, “We would love to meet you and show you the museum.”

Visitors during the anniversary party will also get to see the museum’s newest exhibit dedicated to some of the women who founded Seguin. Information on women who served the community as educators, nurses, elected officials, and more are on display.

The museum is also accepting new members. The cost for membership is $40.00 for an individual, $50.00 for a family, $65.00 for businesses, and $125.00 for corporate. Membership dues help the museum cover their operational expenses.

After the anniversary party, everyone is invited to come to the Memorial Rose Garden for Seguin Main Street’s Moonlight & Roses from 7 to 9 p.m. The event will feature desserts, jazz music, and the presentation of the 2022 downtown awards. There will be commemorative wine glasses available for purchase as well as picnic baskets filled with goodies. You can order your picnic basket by stopping at the Visitor Center at 116 North Camp Street or online at https://MoonlightandRoses2023.eventbrite.com. The wine glasses are $15.00 each and the baskets are $75.00.

The proceeds from the baskets and glasses go towards the Seguin Main Street Program and its downtown beautification efforts.

There will be floral arrangements donated from local florists that will be raffled off throughout the evening. The Seguin Main Street would also like to thank Carter Memorials for donating the engraving of the award plaques.

Make plans to spend your Friday evening in downtown Seguin.
