Texas State Technical College plans for celebration
(Seguin) — The Texas Federation for Advanced Manufacturing Education (TX FAME) Lone Star Chapter is proud to announce the graduation of its inaugural cohort from Texas State Technical College (TSTC), marking a major milestone toward building a highly skilled advanced manufacturing workforce in the region.

This Friday, May 2, 2025, 10 students from the Lone Star Chapter’s inaugural class will walk the stage after having completed the competitive, two-year Associate of Applied Science degree in Advanced

Manufacturing Technology (AMT). This innovative program combines classroom instruction with paid, hands-on experience at sponsoring manufacturing companies within the region, equipping students with the technical skills, professional behaviors, and academic knowledge needed to succeed in today’s modern manufacturing environment.

“The graduation of our first TX FAME Lone Star Chapter cohort is a moment of pride not just for these students and their families, but for the employers, educators, and community and State leaders who

have come together to invest in the future of manufacturing in our region,” said Jason Dinscore, TX FAME Lone Star Chapter President. “These graduates are proof that strong industry-education partnerships can deliver real results.”

The graduation ceremony will be held at 6:30 PM at River City at The Venue, located at 2032 Central Plaza, New Braunfels, TX. Graduates will be recognized for their achievements alongside their families

and friends, sponsoring employers, TSTC faculty, and community partners.

Sponsoring companies with graduating AMTs include Alamo Group Inc., Caterpillar, Cavco Homes of Texas, CMC Steel Texas, Continental, H-E-B Distribution Center, and Republic Plastics. Sponsoring chapter companies include Alamo Group Inc., Caterpillar, Cavco Homes of Texas, CMC Steel Texas, Continental, Detex Corporation, H-E-B Distribution Center, Lhoist, Republic Plastics, Seguin Machining & Supply Co., and Texas Tito’s.

“It’s exciting to celebrate the results of the partnership between TSTC and FAME with the first graduation. The graduation ceremony is a product of years of collaboration and hard work shared by TSTC, the Lone Star Texas FAME chapter, the sponsoring employers, and the students. We’re

incredibly proud of this first cohort and all they’ve accomplished,” said Mike Anderson, provost of TSTC’s New Braunfels campus.

Graduates leave the AMT program with not only a two-year associate degree from TSTC, but also more than 1,800 hours of hands-on experience. The learn and apply model allows AMTs to learn new skills

in the classroom and directly apply those skills in the manufacturing environment the next day. This program provides the skills needed to move AMT’s into highly paid, full-time employment with those

sponsoring employers. The success of the TX FAME Lone Star Chapter is the result of collaboration between the City of New Braunfels, the City of Seguin, the Seguin Economic Development Corporation, the New Braunfels Economic Development Corporation, the area school districts, Texas State Technical College, FAME USA, and regional employer partners.
