SEGUIN, Texas – The City of Seguin and the Seguin Economic Development Corporation (SEDC) are proud to announce that Stephanie Mazurkiewicz-Muehlstein will join the City as Assistant Director of both the Economic Development Department and the Seguin Economic Development Corporation.

Mazurkiewicz-Muehlstein joins the Seguin team after spending the past five years working with the Office of the Governor in the Economic Development & Tourism Office, where she served as a Senior Industry Recruitment Specialist. In this role, Stephanie was one of a small team responsible for managing all incoming project leads to the State, ensuring that companies interested in Texas were able to connect with the right city economic development organizations to serve their needs. Her project management experience with the State during this time surpasses more than $50 billion in new investment and has assisted in the creation of more than 40,000 new jobs across Texas.

Prior to her experience with the Office of the Governor, Stephanie worked for both the cities of Buda and Hutto, primarily in Business Retention and Expansion, where she focused on building relationships with local companies and serving as a connector for business needs.

In her new role as Assistant Director of Economic Development, Mazurkiewicz-Muehlstein will assist Executive Director Alora Wachholz in planning and implementing all economic development activities, including marketing, recruitment, and business retention and expansion initiatives.

Mazurkiewicz-Muehlstein was born and raised in Bryan-College Station. She holds both a Bachelor of Science and a Master of Science in Agricultural Economics from Texas A&M University. She comes from a proud Aggie family, with her father having taught Agricultural Leadership at the university for more than 30 years.

Stephanie has completed her Economic Development Finance Professional (EDFP) certification and is currently in the process of obtaining the Certified Economic Developer (CEcD) credential through the International Economic Development Council.

“Stephanie brings a diverse depth of experience and a valuable statewide perspective to our organization,” said Executive Director Wachholz. “More importantly, her genuine passion for community-building and her commitment to service will greatly benefit both the SEDC and the City of Seguin. We are incredibly fortunate to welcome her to the team, and I am confident she will be a tremendous asset for years to come as Seguin continues to grow and attract new investment opportunities.”

The SEDC looks forward to the leadership, expertise, and added professionalism Mazurkiewicz-Muehlstein will bring to the organization and the Seguin community.
