The Seguin Youth Career Expo hosted nearly 800 eighth grade students from Marion ISD, Navarro ISD and Seguin ISD. This was our first ever event of this kind and it was designed to be an interactive and dynamic experience that would facilitate a connection between 8th grade students, their future Career and Technical Education (CTE) pathway and local employers from a variety of industries.

The goal of this event was to educate students about the career opportunities available to them right here in Seguin at a critical point in their academic careers. Seguin area students are required to choose their high school CTE pathway the semester before their freshman year. The Expo exposed students to a variety of careers and then connected them with the CTE teachers from the high schools help students align their CTE pathway with their future career goals.
