Scarecrow, Skeleton contest winners unveiled in downtown Seguin

(Seguin) — The next time you are traveling around town, don’t forget to look out your window for a prize-winning scarecrow or skeleton. The winners of this year’s Seguin Main Street’s Scarecrow and Skelton decorating contest have been announced. The winners of the contest include:
- Best Overall – NAMI Guadalupe County
- 1st Place – Barnard Donegan Insurance
- 2nd Place – Pecan City Disc Golf Shop
- 3rd Place – Seguin Electric Company, Inc.
- Also pulling in their own respective award are:
- Best Fall Display – Keepers Interiors & Furniture
- Best Business Marketing – Tarpon Blue Real Estate & Insurance
- Best School Display – Seguin Christian Academy
- Most Creative – Liefie’s Rescue
- Best Seguin Vibes – KWED/Seguin Daily News
Kyle Kramm, the Seguin Main Street and CVB director, says the annual Downtown Scarecrow and Skeleton Competition has become a loved tradition for visitors to downtown Seguin. He says the competition encourages businesses to decorate their storefront windows with one of the season’s most popular features. This year, the scarecrows and skeletons range from traditional to spooky.
“The decorations are a great addition to downtown as we enter the busy fall event schedule,” said Kramm.
The Downtown Scarecrow Competition is hosted annual by the Seguin Main Street Program and the Guadalupe County Fair Association. Other participating businesses and organizations include:
- Glam By Laura Ann
- Guadalupe Valley Dog Fanciers
- Mercer Blumberg Learning Center
- Seguin Art League
- Seguin Girl Scouts
- Texas Styles Barbershop and Studios
Judges for the competition this year included Jennifer Sourdellia, Gay Lynn Olsovsky, and Cindy Aguirre-Herrera.
