Seguin working to finalize downtown plan as megaregion growth heads its way

The city of Seguin, in an effort to cash in on the economic expansion San Antonio and Austin are experiencing, is developing a plan to revitalize its historic downtown.
It’s an initiative backers hope will position the heart of the city as a landing place for new economic activity while protecting against the flight or displacement of longtime businesses.
“We've got some big challenges ahead of us with all the growth, with the potential relocation of some businesses,” said Kyle Kramm, Main Street and Convention & Visitors Bureau director for the city of Seguin. “We're trying to make sure that we are ready for those big changes.”
One of the challenges Seguin officials are working to address are underutilized or empty spaces on the upper floors of its downtown buildings. That real estate offers some unique opportunities, especially as Seguin could be an attractive option for remote talent looking to escape more significant growth in San Antonio and Austin.
