(Seguin) — The Texas Federation for Advanced Manufacturing Education (TX FAME): Lone Star Chapter & Texas State Technical College (TSTC) has launched its second cohort at the Central Texas Technology Center (CTTC) located in northern Guadalupe County.

The second cohort is comprised of 15 talented students who will embark on a journey to become Advanced Manufacturing Technicians (AMTs) upon successful completion of the TX FAME program.

The TX FAME Lone Star AMT program, provided by TSTC at the CTTC in New Braunfels, offers students a unique “earn while you learn” model. These promising individuals are proudly sponsored by leading manufacturing companies from Seguin and New Braunfels Participants spend two days a week in the classroom and three days a week on-the-job with a sponsoring company. This hands-on approach leads to an Associate of Applied Science degree in Advanced Manufacturing Technology and a strong foundation for career success. After completing 1,800 hours of practical experience, an impressive 85 percent of graduates secure direct employment with their sponsor, enjoying an average salary increase of 38 percent compared to non-FAME graduates.

“We are incredibly proud to celebrate another exceptional group of students joining this program,”said Jason Dinscore, President of the TX FAME Lone Star Chapter. “These students will train at TSTC and their sponsoring companies to become the highly skilled manufacturing professionals this industry needs to continue thriving. Adding these well-trained students to the local workforce will secure our region’s position as a leader in advanced manufacturing.”

TX FAME and TSTC also equips them with a thorough understanding of industry standards, safety protocols, teamwork dynamics, and collaborative learning practices. This holistic approach establishes a strong foundation for their transformative educational journey within the FAME framework.

“TSTC is excited to continue our partnership with TX FAME Lone Star,” said Mike Anderson, Provost with TSTC New Braunfels. “This is a great group of students and it’s enjoyable to watch them learn and grow into the future of the Central Texas workforce. There is no doubt in my mind that our faculty and staff will have them prepared to be impactful for our manufacturers.”
