(Seguin) — On June 8, Kerr Creek Band will be in Central Park with hot sounds as the Central Park Summer Concert Series presented by Seguin Chevrolet continues!
Kerr Creek, a longtime favorite in the Gonzales area, has been entertaining crowds since the mid 1980s. Known for their classic Country & Western sound, the band also blends in timeless hits from the ’50s and ’60s. Over the years, they’ve played a wide variety of events from trail ride dances and class reunions to weddings, anniversaries, and birthday celebrations bringing their nostalgic energy wherever it’s needed. The Kerr Creek Band remains a staple at local honky tonks, Elks Lodges, and other community venues, continuing to keep the spirit of classic country music alive.
The current five-piece band delivers a rich, full sound with a lineup that includes steel guitar, fiddle, mandolin, piano, bass, drums, lead and rhythm guitars, along with strong vocals and tight harmonies.
Leading the group is Dr. Bob Williamson, a Poteet native who says his love for music began in the crib—listening to tunes played on KBOP radio in Pleasanton by none other than DJ Willie Nelson. His first live show experience was seeing the legendary Ray Price at a dance hall in Poth, a moment that sparked a lifelong passion for classic country. The band’s setlist reflects that deep-rooted love, featuring plenty of Ray Price and George Strait, along with other fan-favorite country hits.
The talented lineup includes Mike Mikesh on bass and harmony vocals; Bill Finch on fiddle and mandolin; George Molina on drums; Mack Quinney covering steel guitar, lead guitar, and piano; and Bob Williamson on rhythm guitar and lead vocals.
